Hello My Name Is...

Katrina Simmons

Assistant Principal, Attendance

Howdy Cowboys!

My name is Katrina Simmons, and I am the Assistant Principal for Attendance here at McCollum High School. I’m a product of Harlandale, as I attended both Bellaire Elementary and Kingsborough Middle, before moving across town and graduating from Holmes High School. I attended one of the best colleges in the world, Texas A&M University-College Station, and I am proud to say I bleed Aggie maroon. During football season, you can hear me yelling for my team from miles away.

Upon graduating from Texas A&M, I returned to Harlandale and began my teaching career at Schulze Elementary, where I taught amazing students for 12 years. I began my administrative career in 2013, and since then, have served as an Assistant Principal at Bellaire and Gillette Elementary and an Academic Coordinator at Carroll Bell and Adams Elementary. I am excited to join the Cowboy Community and be a part of the amazing staff at McCollum High School.

My passion is for the students of Harlandale ISD. It is my hope to provide excellent leadership through my service in education, and to be a model to all students of integrity, hard work and determination. I believe every student who strives for integrity, works hard, and takes advantage of the opportunities provided to them can graduate to become productive members of society and go on to achieve great things!

Go Cowboys!
