I am starting my 18 th year teaching Health Science Technology at McCollum High School since retiring from the U.S. Air Force. I could not imagine teaching anywhere else. Before working here, I served twenty-two years in the United States Air Force, working all areas of the clinical laboratory. I learned a great deal about the world of medicine as well as life in general.

I grew up in a small town near Dayton Ohio and I am the middle child of 3 children. I am the only one of my siblings to go to and graduate from college. I have earned three degrees, an Associates degree; a Bachelor's degree; and a Master's degree; as well as certification in the clinical laboratory (ASCP) and certification to teach Health Science Technology Education . The United States Air Force brought me to live in San Antonio in 1989. I spent a total of twenty-two years in the Air Force working in the clinical laboratory and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1999. I immediately began teaching at McCollum when I retired from the service.

Though I married later in life than most people, I am blessed to have found and married my ideal sweetheart. We met here at McCollum and she still teaches here as well. We have shared 14 blissful years of marriage together. Though we do not have any children we do have six cats. I have a passion for sharing my knowledge and experiences in the field of medicine and enjoy guiding students into the health career field of their choosing. I really enjoy teaching some of the best students the city has to offer. GO COWBOYS!
