A bit about me...

Like you, I am a parent. I am married to my best friend, an incredible woman, and we have three sons together, all of whom attend high school or college in the San Antonio area. I recognize the challenges that high school presents to students, and understand parents' desire to help their child/children succeed and graduate.

Before I began teaching, I served in the United States Army for 24 years. I completed multiple assignments within the United States as well as overseas missions and tours in Panama, South Korea, Egypt, and Afghanistan. I hold multiple certifications amassed during years of leadership and technical training. I am the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action and Air Assault Badges, and multiple Meritiorious Service, Accomodation, and Achievement Medals. During this time I also completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree through the University of the Incarnate Word. I am happy to have retired from military service and to call San Antonio "home." My family epitomizes a slogan I once saw on a bumper sticker: "We weren't born in Texas, but we got here as fast as we could!"

I retired from the Army as a certified contracting and program management profressional, but the best years of my military career were those that I spent as an instructor. I sincerely enjoyed the opportunity to have a positive impact on young Soldiers and help them achieve more than they thought possible, realizing their own potential. After much discernment, that same passion led me to teaching. I obtained my Special Education and Core Subjects certification and I am proud to be a McCollum High School COWBOY
